Christmas In July??

Christmas In July??

Around here, when the Christmas season begins is a surprisingly controversial topic.
Some of us have lingering memories of working retail in our younger years when the ornaments came out and the music started over the store speakers in July, then continued through the new year.  By the time Christmas arrived, we were done with everything holly jolly.   We are the "no-you-cannot-put-up-the-tree-or-play-any-Christmas-music-until-after-Thanksgiving" crew, as those memories have a tendency to linger.
Others embrace everything green and red for months before the big day or even all year in some cases.  A few friends start the countdown about now and let the rest of us know on a regular basis how much time is left.  They are the "summer-is-almost-fall-which-is-practically-Thanksgiving-so-let's-get-started" crew.  As we speak, they are plotting all things Noel.
However, we have one very dear (like a son) friend who takes the candy cane, if you will.  He is marrying a wonderful young lady Saturday, and take a wild guess at their theme.  You don't need a wild one, you know.  The invitation arrived a couple of months ago decked out with red berries, pine branches and Christmas roses.  There will be Christmas trees at the ceremony (no, not real), and rumor has it at least one 9 foot blow-up Nutcracker at the reception.  Those of us described in the first paragraph are watching all this with patient bemusement while those in the second revel in the festivities.  All of us pray their marriage is blessed and blissful.
What does all this have to do with cookie cutters, you ask?  We just recently added all our Christmas stock here with more to come.  Now you can be like our Christmas in July friends and start the bells jingling, or you can be like us, enjoying summer while it lasts with these.  Either way, Merry July to all!
