Farm Themed Cookie Decorating Ideas

Farm Themed Cookie Decorating Ideas

America is a wonderful country; as a whole, we are independent, hard working, generous, and family centered.  Our farmers are no exception.  Living in a rural area, we have the chance to see this first hand.

I've heard it said each farmer in the United States feeds 350 people.  That statistic did not surprise me, because in addition to the above description, the farmers we know are wicked smart and innovative, finding new ways to produce more on the same amount of land.  Around here, a healthy percentage of our food is grown or raised within a handful of miles from our house.

Do we have to live on the back 40 (shoutout to Mom and her lovely expressions), own a tractor and bring in a crop to appreciate farmers?  If you do, you'll have a better understanding of the challenges they face, but that is not necessary.  However, we can make sure to thank a farmer in various ways, and I don't need to give you three guesses to figure out my encouragement to you.

For the farmer who plants, picks, hauls and putters around the place in a vintage rattletrap, we have a cutter set with truck and tractor.  You can settle the John Deere versus Case debate with your decorating style.

Of course, farm cookies would be a great birthday treat for your little one with the great imagination who has a working farm in the living room, too.

Fair time is super busy in our little town as 4-H clubbers compete with livestock and other projects.  Cookies can be made and decorated for barn treats, in congratulations for prizes and hard work or for end-of-year parties.

FFA is recognized during the third week in February.  Around here, that means the high schoolers set up a petting zoo at the local high school for the elementary kids to have a taste of agricultural life. I love that this is a multisensory experience for the younger children-they can see, touch and smell real animals that they have read about in books.

How about you?  Were you raised or do you live in a small town, in the country or on a farm?  We would love to have you share your memories and anecdotes with us-comment below!

I also love that Korey's cookies are realistic with texture!
