Has the gloom of winter gotten you down? Maybe not if you live Somewhere South (or West), but here in Northwest Indiana, the grip of cloudy days and a strong cold front coming through over the weekend has my winter blahs rearing their ugly heads. What can be done? How about a giveaway to brighten your spirits-even if your residence has a zip code in a sunny locale?
The January (or Pre-Valentine, if you will) giveaway is worth over $200 in prizes. I may have stalked my cookie artist friends' posts for ideas, and I may have gotten a little excited in the store thinking of all the ways you can use them. Here's your sneak peak:
Now let's examine each one, beginning with our stencil holder bundle. It's a prize within a prize which includes holders in several depths, clips, a cowboy hat as well as boot stencils,
a cowboy hat cookie cutter and a boot cookie cutter (cookies are by Korey and aren't included). Stencils work with all our cutters! Continuing clockwise, we have 100 piping bags with couplers and tips as well as an extra bag of 24 couplers. Y'all, I had so much fun picking out the next prizes-there's one bag of Glamour Mix and one canister of shimmery, glittery sprinkles.
Pictures do not do them justice. The 16 sticks of purple, pink and mixed colors shine in the package as do the six different sizes and shapes of gold, pearl white and silver sprinkles in the canister. Color is a feast for the eyes, and the 10 shades of gel food coloring do not disappoint! They include the following: bright white (x2 so you can use them for your base and white frosting), forest green, fuchsia, neon yellow, orange, regal purple, royal blue, super black, super red and violet. Next up is edible color spray in gold, pearl and black; I get excited thinking about all the beautiful creations you can make with those last 3 items! Moving on, we have a 16 oz. tub of meringue powder; not super exciting and blingy but useful all the same. Next up is a cookie decorating turntable with nonslip mat and a craft caddy to corral all the pretty gel colors, sprays and sprinkles (they all fit!).
Last but most definitely not least, I included Liana's supercool scribe and a package of five different-colored edible markers.
Whimsical Valentine decorations and chocolate hugs are also included. Whew!
Giveaways are enjoyable, exciting and can help relieve cabin fever a little. This one has deeper meaning behind it as well. First, the rewards of giving outweigh the effort put forward in gathering and assembling the bounty. Secondly, you were thought of throughout the process; the idea that you will be able to start your business or complete Valentine orders fills my heart. People have a tendency to think business owners are in competition with each other. To a certain extent that is true, as cookie decorating and cookie cutters can be tight markets. However, if there is ever any way we can help one another, we should always grab that opportunity and run with it which may be the only running I ever do!
