Why Is Easter So Important?

Why Is Easter So Important?

If you have read any of my previous posts, you know I am an unashamed Christ follower.  I hope you will find love, joy and peace wherever you are in life through a relationship with the One who has existed for all time, was born of a virgin, walked the earth teaching and performing miracles, was crucified and rose again, who sits at the right hand of the Father, the Messiah, Jesus.  His death and resurrection are central to our faith; these events prove His identity and that everything he said was true.  We find them mentioned throughout the New Testament, and they give us comfort today as well as hope for tomorrow.

Romans 6:8-11 says,

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Easter is central to the Christian faith, because Jesus' life, death, burial and resurrection changed everything.  History pivoted from counting our years down to counting our years up.  Our day of worship became Sunday.

From Palm Sunday through Holy Week, Christians reflect on the events leading up to Jesus taking our punishment on the cross.  Resurrection Sunday is a day of joyous celebration of His victory over death.

Many times I have joked with friends that we can't have fun because we're Christians.  Somehow over the years, we have earned the reputation of being stick-in-the-mud, dour-faced rule followers who look down our noses on anyone having any semblance of fun.

Well, generalizations are generally true, as one of my favorite pastors says.  God has a wonderful sense of humor, and He has given us the gift of laughter.  He has allowed us to have many adventures over the years, from mission trips to camping.  He also grants us deep friendships with people who care about us and treat us as family.

So can we celebrate Easter in a happy way?  Unequivocally, yes!!  Our entire business is based upon gathering your family together to laugh, love and learn with each other.  We think of our cutters as tools to do so.  We have bunnies (this bundle as well as the one in the banner),

a fish and cross,

eggs, a bunny and a cross,

and our truck and leaf bundle can be decorated for Easter.

We think when a family comes together to celebrate Easter, the deep significance of the day should be central, and our lives should slow down for the day.  We encourage you to participate in a church service and savor the time as well as food and family traditions with your favorite people.

From our family to yours, we pray you have a memorable and Happy Easter.

One of the things I love about you is your faith and how you share it with others, including in your business.

There are a lot of emotions that come with Easter, and it is okay as Christians to experience them all. We know what Jesus went through for us. 💜

I would like to point out that Easter should be about the values of sacrifice and love. It shouldn’t be limited to a specific religious genre, in my opinion.
